Billy Extension Hamster Cage

After I purchased the small cage from Pets at Home, I made a research of hamsters and I came to the reality that the cages they are selling there are way too small for a Syrian hamster, even if there are even markings that it is suitable for a Syrian hamster.

After I made this discovery I wanted to make a bigger cage for Daisy since even a few days I started to see the symptoms being in too small cage.

So I planned a trip to Ikea and I bought a Billy extension for book shelf. Her cage is made out of 3 Billy extensions because when I bought the parts I didn't think she will come out of the cage so easy and how wrong I was. On the first night she climbed out of the cage !

The dimensions of the cage are 80x70x55. Unfortunately me or my boyfriend we don't have space for any bigger cage, but she seems to be happy in there and doing normal hamster stuff.

So what I decided is that I'm trying to build higher walls with the third Billy extension. I screwed extra holes on top of the cage walls and I attached the extra walls with the metal plugs that came with the package.
To be honest the cage is not the most beautiful one, but at least she has more space to run around and all her small cage symptoms are gone.

Daisy has in her cage sand bath, several hideouts, tubes and 20cm diameter Trixie wheel (Bigger on is on order) and also some chew toys to keep her teeth tidy and short

DIY Foam Face Mask With My Boyfriend

Recently I discovered on Instagram a DIY face mask which is really easy to do, but if you want to do it by hand, you need strength !

You will need only two ingredients for this easy face mask
1 egg white
1tbps of sugar

and mix it well in a bowl until its foamy and will stay on your face. Keep it for about 10 - 15 minutes and wash it off. I find it easiest to do before you are about to have a shower, since I am a bit messy person and I always get it on my hair and after all I will be extremely sticky.

One great side of this mask is that it actually tastes nice in case you manage to get it on your mouth or in case you just want to taste it.

Knitted Hearts

What beats 100-0 Sex and the city on a Saturday night? Knitting, last night I spent my evening knitting, well let's say I was trying to knit. It took a while before it became actually knitting. Last time when I touched knitting needles and yarn was somewhere in a secondary school, long time ago, so let's say I'm a beginner.

Youtube and Google as a help to find out what all those "knitting English" meant. And after that I thought it would be 20 minutes and I would have a knitted heart. The tutorial said it takes approximately 10 minutes, so I gave half of the time more for me to do it, well my 20 minutes became 40 minutes eventually. But I did it, I knitted my very first heart ever, it does look like it's the first, but at least It has the heart shape.

I love this idea of hearts and since it's Valentine's day coming, it's gonna be so cute on a card or just sending the hearts in an envelope

Ready to Go !

Vähän aikaa sitte tuli ostettua uus matkalaukku kon oli tarjouksessa ja tarvetta uudelle pikkasen pienemälle laukulle. Säästin tosiaa ostaessa ton tarjouslaukun, vaikka oliki harmaa.

Joku kirkasväri ois ollu paljon kivempi, mut keksimpähä vähän oudon koristelutavan. Tosiaan toi 'rusetti' on tiskirätti, puhdas kylläkin ;)

Little while ago I bought a new luggage for my up coming travels, there was an offer so I decided to take it even it's a little boring. But I got an idea to make it a little more interesting. I made a bow of pink cleaning wipe, maybe a little strange, but who cares!

DIY Calendar

Tänää oli muutama tunti aikaa ennen ko piti läskiä töihin ja päätinpä alkaa väkertämää taas kerran jottain.

Sain aikaan seinäkalenterin. Aamupäivällä kon kävin piipahtamassa keskustassa tuli tuhlatua pikkusen rahaa, mut on seki sallittua aina välillä.
Mukaan tarttu:

- kartonkia
- narua
- pyykkipoikia

I needed to spend couple of hours before I had to go to work. To spend this time I decided to create a calendar, cause I have only calendar for 2011... Needed a little update.

Earlier in a morning I went to a center and did little shopping, it's okei to spend money sometimes.
My shopping list was:

- Cardboard
- string
- clothespins

That was everything I needed for this calendar, it's really easy to do and didn't take too much time. I took a length of the string which I thought was long enough for 7 clothespins. I did too levels for the calendar and second piece of string needed to be a little longer, cause I wanted it to hang a bit.
Then I wrote all the week days on the clothespins and then cut pieces of cardboard and wrote just some things what I will do in upcoming days. In the end I hanged this thing on the wall

Life of a poor, if you don't have something, you gotta make it of something you already have. So those flowers which I got from work yesterday needed a vase. Well I don't have them, but some time ago I saw a picture on internet where was a lightbulb and it was turned into a vase. I wanted to try out this, cause I had one useless lightbulb (probably it's the owner of this apartment?) but I needed it and hopefully he's not gonna need it anymore

I was going through some DIY projects and I found this awesome project I really want to do. It was on Lily's website and it got my attention.

It looks pretty cool, now I just gotta find someone whose willing to buy bottle of Jack Daniels and to drink it of course. And when it's done, I'm going to reuse it ;) My kitchen will look pretty great after little details like this and it would be perfect if I would find some other DIY project to the hall way or for this my little life room
